I’ve decided that since I still got someone registering as a member here, despite the fact that I removed the link to the register page, the new registrations must be spammers. Thus I have deleted all 7 of the people who registered. If your account was deleted, I sincerely apologize, but since I don’t think anyone real registered, it’s cool.
I’ve upgraded the blog to WordPress 2.2. Apparently K2 (the theme I use) doesn’t work with 2.2 yet, because of the new widget system. I had to disable the cool new widgets to maintain the blog’s look (which I really like), but yeah. The solution is here:

I’ve been pretty busy lately with school and various projects and whatnot, so I haven’t been able to post lately. I’ll try to catch up tonight. 🙂
I’ve noticed that people have been registering on my blog. I’m not sure why, since registration is not required to comment, and registered users cannot do anything non-registered users can’t. Perhaps people are clicking the register link thinking it’s to register for wordpress? I don’t know…
Well, I’m not going to stop you 🙂 Maybe I’ll add some benefit to being a registered user.
I finally made a Mooninite Bomb Scare t-shirt. I got the idea for this back when the bomb scare actually happened, but I hadn’t gotten around to it until just now. It’s $19.99, and one dollar of that goes directly to my wallet :D! If you enjoy A Series of Tubes, you should buy one! Maybe eventually (if they’re popular) I can lower the price, but for now that’s the least I can charge. Oh well! 🙂
UPDATE: Good news and bad news. Good news is that I added women’s shirts to the store! Now the ladies can have Mooninite goodness too! The bad news is The Man has shut down the store for violating the Cafepress terms of use (aka, putting a picture of a copywrited character on a shirt)! I really hope I can find somewhere else to host this, and that anyone who ordered a shirt before gets it (mainly me, I doubt anyone else bought one)…Sorry everyone! Here’s the image that was on the shirt to keep you entertained (It’s a transparent PNG with white text, so chances are you won’t see the text at the bottom unless you save it and open it with some other program):

I just got a suggestion that I make it easier to contact me, and I realized that I don’t have a contact me page. Well, now I do. Hooray for talking to Zib! 😀
I feel a little bad that I just deleted a comment here, but the commenter was being really rude. I would like to think that most people live by the philosophy of “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all,” but evidently this isn’t true since somebody posted a comment telling me one of my old photoshopped images sucks…
I usually believe in freedom of expression, but this is my site and here I am the master of this domain, which means you really don’t have the freedom to say whatever you want. I reserve the right to delete and edit comments, I’ll just feel guilty afterwards. I just don’t want to turn into a control freak, editing everyone’s comments to fit my liking…

To celebrate I’ve opened up an archives page using the awesome Extended Live Archive plugin (which I unfortunately just lost the link to, sorry!). It uses AJAX and is basically awesome. Check out the new Archives tab up at the top there to try it out!
Welcome, everyone, to the new home of A Series of Tubes. I’d like to explain in greater detail the reasons for my move here, if I may. And of course I may, you’re a captive audience. Hooray!
I feel that I’ve outgrown what the hosted WordPress service has to offer. The fact that you cannot use plugins (especially Captcha!) or themes (other than the 30 or so they provide) annoyed me when I first started using WP, and the fact that you cannot even modify the themes they provide to suit your needs was even more annoying.
So, I moved here. Yay.
