On Deleting a Comment

I feel a little bad that I just deleted a comment here, but the commenter was being really rude. I would like to think that most people live by the philosophy of “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all,” but evidently this isn’t true since somebody posted a comment telling me one of my old photoshopped images sucks…

I usually believe in freedom of expression, but this is my site and here I am the master of this domain, which means you really don’t have the freedom to say whatever you want. I reserve the right to delete and edit comments, I’ll just feel guilty afterwards. I just don’t want to turn into a control freak, editing everyone’s comments to fit my liking…

On a lighter note, THIS IS MY 300th POST! Yay!

Well, sadly, not everyone lives by the principle of fair-play in the internet world. Somehow, it (the internet) seems to excuse good behaviour. It’s all based in the “IT’S ALL ABOUT ME” attitude far too many have these days. The following is my own little explanation as to why this is happening. As less and less people go to church, less people have a really good role model to follow. Who can you really look up in modern times and not see that they are a flawed human being despite every great thing they’ve done, honestly? I’ve had my own struggles with coming back to religion as something I need in my life. So, based on that, now that I feel happy saying, “Jesus I need your support, your love, and your forgiveness” I can act like I know I should. I think others just don’t have that strong basis of support, be it Jesus, or a strong family, to say what is the correct behaviour, and what isn’t. JMHO of course 🙂

So, in summary, don’t feel guilty. I too, have deleted comments. Yes, you do feel guilty, but it’s your forum, your soapbox, and your right to erase negative comments. You can erase this one too, for that matter. But anyways, I like your blog.

Hmm, yeah, it’s your own space, do what you want.
