My WordPress chart showing the people reading my blog jumped up a while ago when I got 133 visitors in one day, and the chart has been marked off in increments of 40 ever since then, but usually the first number is 2 and the next is 42, and today it starts at 8 and goes to 48. I’ve gotten 17 unique views today, not including me, and that’s pretty much the lowest it’s been in a while. What’s attracting people to my blog? I’m not sure, since nobody ever comments. But apparently it’s this:
I get at least two people google searching for that every day that end up here, so maybe posting this picture again will get me more hits 😛
I’ve changed my blog’s theme yet again. this time to the brand new K2 Lite. I like it, and I’m working on a custom header image. 🙂 Comments?
This blog (as in, the blog at this URL, not including its past incarnations) has had exactly 2500 views total since its opening. Woohoo! My top day had 73 people viewing the blog.
…Leave more comments, you people. I’ll post a comment on your blog if you leave one here!
I used to have a dream theory, which stated that the instant you realize you are dreaming is the instant you begin to wake up. This made perfect sense, because as you begin to regain conciousness you become aware that you were dreaming, so I figured they were connected.
Well, it appears I was wrong. I learned yesterday about Lucid Dreams, which are dreams that you can control. This occurs when you’re dreaming and you realize you’re dreaming. You are then in control of your subconcious mind, allowing you to do virtually anything in your own little dream world! This idea really appeals to me, because I think it would be extremely cool to do anything I wanted and not be restrained by physics or laws or any other restraints in the physical world.
The Wikipedia article lists ways of having Lucid Dreams, such as reality tests. These involve doing things in the awake world which usually do not happen in the dream world, such as pinching youself and feeling pain, reading text properly, etc. The idea is that if you do these tests enough in real life (where they will always pass, you feel pain if you pinch yourself and text does not change by itself), you will eventually dream about yourself doing one of these tests, and of course the test will fail in your dream (where you feel no pain and text can change itself at will). When you see the test fail, you realize you are dreaming and are placed in control. Very cool.
To help myself try to become Lucid and have better dream recall, I have started a Dream Log to record any and all dreams I have in. Congratulations, you can now read my subconcious mind. Freud would have a field day 😛
Well, I’m looking around my Blog stats, and according to WordPress, some people are actually reading my blog! (The masses gasp a collective gasp of amazement) *GASP!*
I’ve gotten 2 comments from peopl I don’t know which aren’t spam, that’s a sign right there. Also, apparently 12 people have viewed this blog today. 12 different people, not including me. It says that 7 people have read my feed today, I guess that’s mainly people I know, but still.
I also took a look at my search terms stats, and it seems that a lot of people get here by searching for some combination of the words Myst, Linux, and/or Uru. If you want GrunchKev’s Uru for Linux site, then http://rechner.lst.de/~okir/grunchkev/ is the address to look at. If you’re just looking for a site which likes Linux, Myst, and all other good things in life, then stay here. : )
Ooh I got another idea, though this might fail. If you read this blog, post a comment on this post! 😛
On this day, in 2005, I opened my first (real) blog, Myst Otaku, which I left because I didn’t like the URL. I ported all my posts to my new blog, Love, Life, and Linux (Blogger Edition), which sadly met its demise on April 15th. From there I moved to where I currently am now on WordPress, because Blogger’s lack of support or functionality finally scared me away. So while this is not the birthday of this blog in particular, all of my blogs have shared the same 174 (including this one) posts*, so this is the closest I can get to the actual birthday of my blog. So, without further ado,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ZIB’S BLOG!!!
To celebrate, I’m going to bed and graduating tomorrow :P.
The reason for all the unsureness is that my first post on this blog has the ID of 5, meaning it’s the fifth post, I think…but it is the ‘Welcome to Myst Otaku’ post, so I don’t know…
*Total. Obviously this blog has more posts than the others, and there are progressively less as you go back. You get what I mean.
I changed the theme of the blog again…It’s pretty fun, escpecially since I don’t have to worry about losing my css stuff. 😀
