{"id":821,"date":"2008-05-26T07:47:43","date_gmt":"2008-05-26T12:47:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zibland.com\/blog\/?p=821"},"modified":"2008-05-26T07:47:43","modified_gmt":"2008-05-26T12:47:43","slug":"ubuntu-804-and-the-realtek-8185-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/old.zibland.com\/blog\/?p=821","title":{"rendered":"Ubuntu 8.04 and the Realtek 8185 (Update)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ok, my <a href=\"http:\/\/zibland.com\/blog\/?p=820\">last post<\/a> actually was <em>not<\/em> completely flawless, that method has been giving me some issues, so I found these instructions instead:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open Terminal<\/li>\n<li><code>sudo apt-get install ndisgtk<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Download the <a href=\"ftp:\/\/210.51.181.211\/cn\/wlan\/WinXP2K.zip\">Windows drivers<\/a> (I&#8217;ve only tested it with the XP drivers)<\/li>\n<li>Open System>Administration>Windows Wireless Drivers<\/li>\n<li>Select the .inf file from the unzipped folder you downloaded in step 3<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>That method worked perfectly for me, and has lasted through numerous reboots, unlike the previous way. I&#8217;ve only tested it with a WPA Personal network, no idea if it works with WEP or WPA2.
